We have just finished celebrating Thanksgiving Day, 2011. I can’t believe how quickly time passes by! I spent the day with a dear friend and her mother at the retirement center where the mother is currently residing. We were treated to a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner and my friend and I spent some quality time visiting with, not only her mom, but another dear lady who is also living at that same facility. ¬†

I later arrived home, tired, but full of joy and thankfulness. I am now reminiscing on all of the many things that I can praise God for:

I thank God for my life and my health. I experienced a mini-stroke 12 years ago yesterday and am thanking God for His healing power in my life.

I thank God for my family. Although we’re a bit scattered out…some in Houston, some in Friendswood, some in the Dallas area, and one in Florida, we are still a close-knit, loving family.

I thank God for a roof over my head, food to eat, clothes to wear, a wonderful car to drive, and finances enough to meet my needs.

I thank God that I wake up each morning able to see, hear, speak, walk and rejoice in a healthy body.

I thank God for friends who love me and talk me through things that I may be struggling with at any given moment, an amazing church family and prayer partners to lift needs and praises up to God with.

I thank God for my salvation. I thank God for His Son, Jesus Christ who loved me enough to die for me and secure my eternal redemption. I thank Him from the bottom of my heart for His Gift, too wonderful for words!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone, and remember, we can be thankful every day of the year…not just on Thanksgiving Day! See you again soon…

Happy Father’s Day!

I have one brother and I was the “baby” of the family. We were a very close-knit bunch. I grew up in the 1950’s-1960’s during a severe recession where money was tight, but I never knew it. Our family was rich in love. He was such a sweet man who Continue reading
